Responsibilities:
- This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys balancing day-to-day employee and operational support with process improvement and thrives in a fast-paced, operational, aerospace production-driven environment
- The HR Generalist will report directly to the HR Manager and work directly with managers and employees to support key HR functions including employee relations, onboarding, compliance, performance management, and workforce administration
- This position plays an important role in maintaining a positive company culture, supporting our teams in both the production and office environments, and ensuring consistent HR practices across the organization
- Assist in all phases of employee life-cycle including but not limited to various screening and testing, onboarding, unemployment, discipline, termination, etc
- Aid in the administration of employee benefits and retirement programs including enrollments, changes and employee inquiries
- Maintain and update personnel & medical files in both electronic and paper formats in HRIS while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Maintain employee quality and OSHA training records in HRIS & schedule required medical exams as needed
- Schedule and coordinate candidate interviews with hiring managers while engaging in interviews and assist in extending offers of employment to selected candidates as directed and approved by senior management.
- Track and Issue employee badges & security access to incoming employees and lead onboarding & scheduled new hire orientations
- Support payroll processes in ADP WFN by ensuring accurate employee data, timekeeping coordination, and issue resolution
- Consistently track and administer FMLA and other leave programs in accordance with federal, state and local laws and regulations
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including leaves of absence, compensation, company policies, and employee relations concerns
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of human resources policies, procedures, and practices
- Tracking of employee incentives and attendance notifications
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in auditing data and developing action plans for addressing identified issues as needed and required
- Stay up to date with HR trends and best practices
- Lead by example by maintaining composure, integrity & character.
- Additional responsibilities as required by management
- Other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility of the job.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Employee Relations: Act as the first point of contact for employees, handling conflict resolutions, investigations and drive employee engagement.
- Talent Acquisition: Assist HR Manager with full-cycle recruitment, including posting positions, reviewing resumes & conducting all onboarding/orientations
- Compliance & Records: Ensuring compliance with Federal, State & local labor laws (FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc) and maintaining accurate employee records in HRIS.
- Benefits & Payroll: Assisting with benefits administration, open enrollment and supporting bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Must be proficient in ADP WorkForce Now.
- Must have experience with payroll processing
- Performance Management: Assisting managers with employee performance reviews, disciplinary actions & attendance counseling.
- Previous HR work experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment, required
- Ability to act with integrity, courtesy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Must have strong organizational, analytical & problem solving skills.
- Full knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations such as E-Verify, FLSA, Worker’s Comp claim filing, OSHA & EEOC reporting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook & related programs, specifically Excel.
- Self-motivated, innovative, practical, adaptable and able to work independently as well as a team.
- Ability to fully speak, read, write, and understand English language
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, not eligible for VISA sponsorship
- Must be a US Citizen
Education & Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience required, in lieu of Bachelors Degree
- Certifications: SHRM-CP or PHR helpful but not required.
- Full knowledge of ADP Workforce Now experience, required
Working Conditions:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Regular attendance is mandatory and must follow all work safety programs
- Must be available to provide HR assistance to managers on different shifts as needed
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to wear required PPE (safety glasses, footwear, etc) and occasionally be exposed to extreme heat or cold for brief periods of time.
- This position is 100% onsite.
- The essential duties job may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, to walk and sit for extended periods of time; to push and/or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds; to use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp files and other objects; to perceive the attributes of objects by touch; to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff and others on the phone and in the office. Occasionally being on foot, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climb stairs and kneeling and/or crouch to retrieve files and other items.
