Position Description

 

The Human Resource Generalist will assist in the running of the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing hourly staff, conducting new hire

orientations, benefits, organization and enforcing company policies and practices.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ownership of complete hourly recruiting process including recruitment, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Establishes a system of communication with the plant manager and supervisors to assess the hiring needs of the facility ensuring that all roles are properly recruited for.
  • Ownership of all hourly recruiting and new hire activity within the company HRIS.
  • Implements new hire orientation, ensuring staff is onboarded correctly and efficiently.
  • Ensures that all employee files are created and maintained on the global data base.
  • Performs all hourly employee Kronos and time keeping tasks. This includes but is not limited to time off requests and absences.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate hourly staff members.
  • Ensure that all employees understand how to navigate and apply for benefits through our benefits portal.

 

Required Education & Qualifications

  •  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Combination of experience and education considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of human resources experience. HR experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
