DescriptionSummary: The HR Generalist is a key operational role responsible for the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of Innovize’s core HR processes. This position serves as the day-to-day owner of HR systems, associate data, benefits administration, and leaves of absence, ensuring associates enrolled and supported correctly.
This role works closely with associates, managers, payroll, benefits vendors, and HR leadership to manage the full employee lifecycle from a systems and compliance perspective. The HR Generalist ensures HR data integrity, administers complex benefit and leave programs, and serves as a reliable resource for employees navigating benefits, HR systems, and time away from work.
Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion. The HR Generalist must balance regulatory requirements with a practical, service-oriented approach, providing clear guidance while maintaining consistency and fairness across the organization.
This position is well-suited for an HR professional who enjoys structured work, problem-solving, and being the steady hand behind the scenes, keeping HR operations running smoothly so the business can move forward with confidence.
Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Employee Relations & Support
- Serve as a trusted contact for associates and supervisors on HR-related questions.
- Address employee relations matters with fairness, consistency, and good judgment.
- Support performance management processes, including coaching, documentation, and corrective action.
- Promote a positive, respectful workplace aligned with Innovize values.
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers to post jobs, screen candidates, schedule interviews,a dn support hiring decisions.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation to ensure a strong first-day (and first week) experience.
- Maintain accurate associate records from hire to exit
Compliance & Policies
- Help administer HR policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Support handbook updates and policy communication.
- Assist with investigations and documentation as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
Training & Development
- Coordinate training programs, including compliance, and leadership developments.
- Track training completion and maintain records.
- Manage engagement and retention activities.
HR Operations & Administration
- Manage benefits administration, open enrollment, and associate questions.
- Support payroll coordination by ensuring accurate associate date and serve as payroll back up.
- Train and process payroll at least once a quarter
- Maintain HR systems and reports with strong attention to detail.
- Assist with audits and HR projects.
THIS IS A TEMPORARY ROLE WITH A POSIBILITY OF TRANSITIONING TO A FULL TIME REGULAR POSITION.
QualificationsRequired:
- 3+ years of HR Generalist experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
- Clear communication skills and good judgment
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
Preferred:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)
- Experience supporting hourly manufacturing employees
- Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems (Paycom)
- Bi-Lingual in Hmong
