ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Supporting HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, policy implementation, and recordkeeping.  


CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt / Hourly


WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


COMPENSATION RANGE: $15 - $25 per hour


ANTICIPATED TRAVEL: Minimal; occasional local travel may be required for interviews or meetings  


SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The HR Generalist will support the daily functions of the human resources department by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and recordkeeping. This role ensures that HR policies and procedures are followed and helps foster a positive working environment.


Standard Daily Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new employees
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data accuracy
  • Support employee relations and communication efforts
  • Assist in benefits administration and employee inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws


SCHEDULED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct new hire orientations and onboarding processes
  • Post job openings and coordinate interview schedules
  • Process HR documentation and maintenance of personnel files
  • Support performance management initiatives
  • Assist with payroll processing and benefits enrollment


UNSCHEDULED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to employee questions and concerns
  • Assist with organizing training sessions and HR events
  • Support special projects as assigned by HR leadership
  • Participate in audits and compliance reviews


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • May require occasional lifting of office supplies or files (up to 20 lbs)
  • Use of standard office equipment such as phones, computers, and printers


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office environment with a standard 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM schedule
  • Minimal exposure to noise and hazards
  • Opportunities for remote work or flexible scheduling may be available depending on company policies


COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of HR policies, employment laws, and best practices
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office Suite
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Organized with excellent time management skills
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities


LEVEL OF EDUCATION / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Prior HR experience or internship is a plus
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR is advantageous but not required
