JOB DESCRIPTION

 

The Talent & Benefits Specialist serves as the primary driver for high-impact talent acquisition and comprehensive benefits management. This role is the bridge between the employee’s first impression of the company and their long-term security. The core component of this role is leading full-cycle recruitment while serving as the subject matter expert for benefits administration and leave compliance.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Talent Acquisition & Retention

  • Champion Recruitment: Lead all recruitment efforts by crafting compelling job postings, proactively screening candidates, and managing the full-cycle hiring process to secure top talent.
  • Dynamic Onboarding: Facilitate a high-energy onboarding experience for all new hires, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately to provide a seamless transition.
  • Strategic Growth Support: Partner with Supervisors and Managers to identify talent gaps, forecast staffing needs, and refine department-specific hiring profiles.
  • Retention Analytics: Transform raw data into actionable insights by generating reports on turnover and headcount trends to help leadership make informed people decisions.

Benefits & Wellness Advocacy

  • Benefits Expert: Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding health benefits, 401(k), and ADP portal usage.
  • Leave Leadership: Manage the comprehensive administration of employee leaves, including FMLA, ACA, Paid Medical Leave, and Short-Term Disability.
  • Transitions & Programs: Guide employees through complex life transitions such as Medicare eligibility and enrollment, while managing internal safety equipment programs.
  • Compliance Mastery: Ensure all benefits records and actions remain in strict compliance with state and federal mandates.

Data & Regulatory Management

  • System Administration: Serve as an administrator for the IBM and ADP portals, ensuring 100% data integrity for new hires and status changes.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Provide timely responses to Department of Labor unemployment requests and employment verifications.

  • Exceptional Communication & Public Speaking: Possess a natural ability to connect with people, confidently leading training sessions and presenting information to large groups.
  • Interpersonal Excellence: Foster vibrant, positive relationships with employees at all levels, acting as a charismatic brand ambassador for the company.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertly navigate the ADP portal and IBM systems for recruitment, payroll, and record management.
  • Detail-Oriented Administration: Maintain a sharp focus on accuracy when managing complex Leaves of Absence (FMLA, Paid Medical Leave, ACA) and conducting HR audits.
  • Dynamic Problem Solving: Resolve employee inquiries regarding benefits and payroll with professionalism and a "people-first" approach.
  • Integrity & Confidentiality: Handle sensitive employee relations and performance matters with the highest level of discretion.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Apply a strong understanding of federal and state employment laws to ensure daily operations remain fully compliant.
  • Organizational Agility: Demonstrate superior time management to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing the full-cycle recruitment process.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  •  Proven HR Background: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an HR Generalist or high-engagement HR-related role.
  • Academic Foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Recruitment Expertise: A strong track record of successful full-cycle recruitment, demonstrating the ability to connect with talent and build a thriving workforce.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skill in utilizing the ADP portal for recruitment, employee records, and reporting, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Leave Administration Mastery: Deep understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws, with specific experience managing FMLA, ADA, Paid Medical Leave, and ACA compliance.
  • Benefits Savvy: Comprehensive familiarity with benefits enrollment processes, including guiding employees through Medicare and other health programs.
  • Relational Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to handle complex employee inquiries and resolve conflicts through effective, solutions-oriented communication.
  • Discretion & Integrity: A proven history of managing sensitive, confidential information with the utmost professionalism and ethical judgment.
