Proposed Job Title:                 Human Resources Generalist

Reports to:                              Director, Human Resources

Type:                                       Full-time, exempt

Location:                                 Spinato’s Headquarters

Pay Range:                              $55k - 65k



 As an HR Generalist at Spinato’s, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our mission: We exist to enhance the lives of others. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations, helping to maintain a legally sound and ethical work environment while fostering trust and transparency within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with all restaurant locations and corporate on recruiting and staffing support, initiating and tracking requisitions.
  • Assist with job descriptions, job advertisements, and screening candidates, as necessary.
  • Ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Support the employe life cycle of ensuring smooth onboarding and offboarding:  administering all paperwork, supporting orientation and ensuring they are properly entered into Paycom (HRIS) and conducting exit interviews.
  • Process employee changes, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and transfers in Paycom (HRIS).
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Promote positive employee relations by fostering a culture of open communication, respect, and fairness.
  • Conduct timely investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth, address root causes and resolve employee relations issues through a systematic and compliant approach.
  • Organize and facilitate employee engagement initiatives, such as team-building activities, recognition programs, and employee feedback mechanisms.
  • Review, guide, and approve management recommendations for employment terminations.
  • Responsible for building trust-based relationships with people managers and individual contributors.
  • Create and maintain reports (Headcount, tracking spreadsheets, org charts, etc.) including analyzing reports and identifying trends within the data.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.
  • Prepare employee correspondence and communications.
  • Work on special assignments as they arise.
  • Provide leave of absence support for employees (Including
  • ADA, STD, LTD, FMLA, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills        
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills        
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet specific, time sensitive tasks within a fast-paced environment        
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills        
  • Strong internal and external guest service focus, with a genuine desire to assist others        
  • Strong project management and complex problem-solving skills        
  • Strong presentation skills and facilitation experience to effectively deliver a variety of HR-related training programs to groups of managers / colleagues        
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality        
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations        
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software        
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the Company’s HRIS and talent management systems.

 

Education And Experience        

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.         
  • At least 1 year of Human Resource Management experience, hospitality or restaurant industry preferred         
  • SHRM-CP a plus        
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and regulations.        
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.        
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.        
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

 Physical Requirements and Work Environment        

  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment        
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
