Averill Hospitality is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team.
PRINCIPLE
RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION PURPOSE:
Manages daily administrative
duties for the Human Resources department. Acts as a key contact for employees
and management on benefits, payroll, onboarding, polices and compliance.
MAIN DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or
requests
- Assist payroll specialist with payroll, PTO approvals, entering
pay rate changes, position changes, new hires, and terms into systems
- Onboard employees, background checks, new hire paperwork, handbook
policies, and orientation
- Maintaining records of personnel-related data in both paper and
the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
- Process employee room requests
- Fill out unemployment forms and employment verifications
- Liaise with other departments or functions (payroll, benefits, training
etc.)
- Coordinating open enrollment for internal benefits, acting as a
liaison between employees and insurance providers. Resolving benefits-related
problems, administering benefits plans, including mid-year enrollments,
changes, and terminations
- Upholds company policies by participating and leading disciplinary
action, disputes and investigations
- Processing Workman’s Compensation claims and OSHA reporting
- Assist HR Coordinator with J1 processes and procedures
- Help track employee training
- Attend appropriate meetings at all Whitefish properties
- Attend local career fairs
- Active member of the CORE Committee to engage Team, Guest and Community
- Assist in employee relations activities, recognition, and morale

SUPPORTIVE
FUNCTIONS
In
addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be
required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with
the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the Director
of Human Resource based upon the requirements of the company.
- Participate in industry organizations
- Maintain an open line of communication
between guests, employees, and management
- Assist in any other duties as needed. This
position may be required to perform other additional duties assigned by the Director
of Human Resource
QUALIFICATION
STANDARDS
EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent required. College degree or certification
is preferred with emphasis in Human Resources.
EXPERIENCE/ LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
- 3-4 years’ experience in Human Resources.
- PHR or SHRM Certification
