Under direction of the HR Manager, the Human Resources Generalist supports a broad range of HR-related responsibilities with a strong emphasis on compliance with labor laws, workplace investigations, and fostering a positive organizational culture. Maintains confidentiality in work-related matters, as this position involves access to confidential information, including but not limited to personnel files.
A Day in the Life

• Conducts timely, fair, and objective investigations into workplace complaints, including issues related to harassment, discrimination, retaliation, policy violations, and other employee relations matters.
• Documents investigation steps, findings, and conclusions thoroughly and professionally.
• Makes recommendations for resolution and support implementation of appropriate actions.
• Promotes a respectful and inclusive workplace by ensuring consistent and legally compliant application of HR policies.
• Interprets and applies California State employment laws and regulations.
• In consultation with the HR Manager, acts as a liaison between departments and affiliates, and plays a critical role in ensuring the consistent application of HR practices.
• Assist with HR matters and employee inquiries and requests.
• Assists with the preparation and facilitation of New Hire orientations.
• Assist and partner on leaves of absence in accordance with California PSL, FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and other applicable leave laws.
• Assists with Termination Processes and Procedures
• Embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and by fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
• Maintains confidentiality, discretion, judgment, and professionalism when handling sensitive information, including personnel files.
• Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
• Oversees workers' compensation claims with carriers and manages the documentation process.
• Investigates workplace injuries to determine causes and prevent future occurrences.
• Performs other related duties/projects as assigned

• Successful completion of Human Resources Program or Degree in Human Resources and or 1 year of Human Resources experience.
• Ability to show thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/state/local regulations through questions, discussions and completed tasks
• Very strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential
• Takes ownership of job responsibilities and accountability
• Ability to work independently with little supervision required
• Ability to remain calm while working under pressure in a busy environment
• Ability to work within a timeframe of standard policies and procedures and not miss deadlines/due dates
• Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information
• Excellent ability to multi-task, prioritize, and solve problems in a busy, fast paced environment
• Exhibit extraordinary discretion, confidentiality, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with our team
• Strong professionalism and organizational and planning skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Travel to Centers as needed
