HWC Engineering is a dynamic and growing company looking to add a detail oriented Human Resources Generalist to our HR team. The successful candidate will have prior experience in recruiting, familiarity with HRIS/ATS systems, proven enthusiasm around employee engagement efforts, and proven proficiency in general HR admin tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a service-oriented mindset, and a working knowledge of HR best practices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Assist in full cycle recruiting for corporate positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selecting top talent. Lead the management of company job descriptions. Previous experience in Civil Engineering is a plus! 
  • Assist with HRIS-related processes, including benefits administration, performance management, compensation, and general employee data maintenance. 
  • Represent our company at career fairs and networking events, promoting our employer brand and attracting potential candidates. 
  • Build relationships with candidates, educational institutions, and key industry contacts to enhance our talent pipeline.
  • Support payroll functions including but not limited to time sheets, hours, pay rate changes, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, direct deposits, benefit adjustments etc.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes for new and departing employees, ensuring a smooth transition and positive experience.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in HR, contribute to HR Projects and initiatives aligned with HWC's growth and culture.  

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 
  • Proven experience in HR roles, with a focus on onboarding, employee engagement, and full-cycle recruiting. (2-3 years preferred)
  • Knowledge of employee benefits including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (ADP experience preferred) and MS Office Suite. Considers self to be highly effective and intuitive with technology.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Positive and fun attitude, with a passion for creating a positive work environment.
