SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Generalist supports daily HR operations by administering policies, employee relations, talent acquisition, training, and compliance. This role ensures consistent HR practices aligned with business and regulatory requirements.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition; ensure AAP-compliant job postings and requisition tracking.
  • Screen, interview, and coordinate candidate selection with hiring managers; schedule interviews
  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation, pre-employment screenings, system entries, and ID/access setup
  • Maintain job descriptions, transfer processes, referral program, and temporary labor coordination
  • Ensure I-9 compliance, tracking, and audit readiness
  • Support training initiatives and conduct benefit orientations; serve as benefits liaison\
  • Provide employee relations support, HR guidance, and policy enforcement
  • Backup payroll processing and maintain accurate HRIS and personnel records
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; maintain confidentiality
  • Assist HR Director with projects and support company employee events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in manufacturing or food processing.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, benefits and employee relations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel administration, including promotion regulations and procedures, compensation and benefit packages, employee relations.
  • Knowledge of organizational planning, coordination, execution, including leadership techniques, resource allocation and staffing.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to personnel management.
  • Knowledge of clerical procedures and systems such as filing and records maintenance and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English with strong verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful, but not required.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to prolonged and repetitive motions which include sitting at a desk or computer workstation, typing, staring at a computer screen, typing, and writing to perform tasks. Employee must occasionally lift or carry moderately heavy boxes, documents, equipment, or office supplies. The employee will need to bend, move, or walk within the office, plant and warehouse environments to attend meetings, for site visits, and to assist with physical inventories.

 

Although this position is not directly involved in production, employees might be exposed to environmental factors like noise, normal air contaminants, temperature variations, or odors.

 

Compliance with GMP and safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting the production areas.
