What are we looking for in a Human Resources Assistant?
The HR Generalist serves as a primary resource to internal and external customers regarding various human resources (HR) and employment related matters. Maintains the HR information system as it relates to employee demographics, compensation and time and attendance. Provides direction and support to recruiting, credentialing, onboarding and other team members as needed.

Human Resources Generalist duties include:

  • Accurately enters and maintains information in the HR information system (HRIS). Coordinates changes with Payroll department as needed. Serves as the liaison to Payroll department and to all staff.
  • Provides support to supervisors in staff engagement, performance improvement, and hiring. Provides support to HR Director and CHRO during investigations, discipline, and termination of employment.
  • Provides support to employees and supervisors on all HR-related topics. Includes managing HR@comphc.org email inbox.
  • Serves as the primary resource to end-users of the HRIS. Provides end-user training as needed. 
  • Determines compensation for all new, rehired, and transferring employees based on established guidelines, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Manages provider and locum tenens (nurses and providers) recruitment and placement.
  • Serves as a backup resource during external organization audits and surveys as well as benefits enrollment, retirement plan, and other annual department audits.      
  • Manages applicant tracking system (ATS) including template creation, requisition process, hiring manager training and support.     
  • Administration of internal processes supporting tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment assistance, recognition programs, etc.
  • Promptly and accurately responds to employment verification and reference requests in compliance with organization policy.
  • Manage performance evaluation process to include tracking due dates, following up with supervisors, maintaining data for reporting to leadership, introductory period completion, etc.
  • Manage employee lifecycle recordkeeping for recruiting, hiring, transfers, promotions, terminations, etc. Includes daily and weekly communication with leadership and other departments.
  • Provides input regarding policies and procedures for compliance with employment-related regulations and/or meeting company goals and objectives.
  • Provides support, guidance, and backup for all other HR team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field
  • 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification (preferred)
