Description Summary:

The HR Generalist plays a critical role in supporting and scaling the people operations function at DC BLOX. Reporting to the VP of HR, this position is responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality HR support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, benefits administration, performance programs, and compliance.

 

This role serves as a key partner to employees and managers, ensuring HR processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with positive employee experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where they can take ownership and drive continuous improvement across HR operations.

 

Essential Duties:

  • HR Operations
    • Own day-to-day administration of the HRIS (Rippling), ensuring accurate and up-to-date employee data
    • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless employee experience
    • Support payroll processing in coordination with HR leadership and external partners
    • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
    • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook
  • Employee Experience & Support
    • Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR-related questions, providing timely and accurate guidance
    • Support employee engagement initiatives, programs, and company events
    • Coordinate logistics for company meetings, including All-Hands and team gatherings
    • Promote employee development resources, including management of the LinkedIn Learning platform
  • Recruiting Support
    • Assist with recruiting efforts during periods of increased hiring
    • Coordinate interviews, including scheduling and candidate communication
    • Partner with hiring managers and recruiters to ensure a smooth candidate experience
  • Performance & HR Programs
    • Support performance management cycles, including system administration, communication, and tracking
    • Assist in the execution of HR programs and initiatives that support employee development and retention
  • Leave Administration
    • Administer employee leave programs including FMLA, parental leave, and medical leave
    • Manage leave documentation, compliance, and tracking within HR systems
    • Serve as a resource to employees navigating leave processes
  • Compliance & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate HR documentation to support compliance and internal audits
    • Partner with Security & Compliance teams on SOC 2 and other audit requirements
    • Support HR reporting and tracking of key people metrics
    • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Support ongoing process improvements across HR operations
    • Assist with special projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed
    • Other duties as assigned

 

Education/Training/Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience supporting employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, offboarding, benefits, payroll)
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms (Rippling preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-service mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting recruiting or talent acquisition processes
  • Exposure to compliance and audit requirements (e.g., SOC 2 or similar frameworks)
  • Experience in a high-growth, technology, or infrastructure environment
  • Familiarity with additional HR tools and systems (e.g., ATS, LMS platforms)
