The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources (HR) department. Key responsibilities include coordinating recruitment activities, conducting screening interviews, administering employee benefits and leave programs, and ensuring the consistent application of company policies and procedures. This role also manages the maintenance and confidentiality of employee records, updates the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), and ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.

| 1 | Ensure primary source verification of all licenses and certifications required by law or regulation for individuals to practice their profession legally. Maintain continuous monitoring of licensure and certification status for all employees, agency staff, and contracted providers. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2 | Oversee all aspects of the hiring process, including conducting background checks, drug screenings, and reference verifications, as well as preparing and issuing offer letters. | 3 | Facilitate HR onboarding for new hires and lead hospital orientation sessions. Ensure timely and accurate completion of USCIS Form I-9 in full compliance with federal regulations. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 4 | Perform routine HR functions related to compensation, benefits administration, leave management, disciplinary actions, investigations, and performance and talent management. Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Specialist as needed to support employee recognition programs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | Facilitate recruitment efforts by partnering with department managers and directors to identify required skills and competencies for open positions. Conduct initial applicant screenings and participate in preliminary interviews to support effective candidate selection. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | Compile and analyze data to support the preparation of EEO-1 and other required regulatory reports. Assist with additional compliance reporting and documentation as assigned. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 7 | Assist in administering employee health and welfare benefit programs, including new hire enrollments, annual open enrollment, COBRA continuation coverage, and life insurance. Ensure timely and accurate processing in accordance with plan guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors by providing accurate guidance and support. Escalate complex or sensitive matters to the HR Manager to ensure proper resolution and compliance with company policies. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | Maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as current industry best practices. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Prior experience in healthcare HR (preferred). | Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, ADA) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Experience working with regulatory agencies in a hospital or HR setting (e.g., CIHQ, Joint Commission). | Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems; Paycom experience preferred. | Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Ability to multitask while maintaining confidentiality. |
