Job Summary

The person holding this key position must be an effective HR Generalist with strong collaboration, planning, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills who has demonstrated the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects in an extremely fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering payroll functions, supporting day-to-day HR operations, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role combines payroll expertise with HR generalist responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide Tier 1 Payroll and HR support to Employees and Management via tickets, e-mails, and phone calls
  • Maintain and process all certified payroll reports for the Organization
  • Manage payroll adjustments, garnishments, deductions, and off-cycle payments
  • Ensure that Flagship’s operation remains in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and payroll taxes
  • Provide meaningful employment and payroll related reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • When necessary, process payroll accurately and timely; reconciling payroll reports and collaborating with Operations and Finance for accuracy
  • Maintain payroll records, ensuring compliance with wage, tax, and overtime laws
  • Develop and nurture effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders, including those at Corporate and other regions
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through fairness, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Workday preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong follow up and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with constant changes
  • Considerable knowledge of payroll processes, wage and hour laws, and HR compliance
  • Experience in a multi-state payroll environment
  • Advanced Excel and reporting skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Work Environment

  • Small-to-large office environment.
  • Fast paced work environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments.
  • Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, cleaning products and noise.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds of office and facilities equipment (cleaning products, tools, and ladders) and trash and the ability to safely use equipment provided. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
