Our state-of-the-art Circularity Center, currently under construction in Houston, TX, will be the first large scale facility in the United States, designed to process a diverse range of post-consumer, commercial, and industrial plastic waste. This innovative center will process more than 300 million pounds (180,000 metric tons) per year and convert it into ISCC-PLUS-certified feedstock suitable for mechanical and advanced recycling applications.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist to join our team at Cyclyx Circularity Center (C1.) The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in managing HR functions and ensuring smooth operations within the facility, which includes collaborating with a third-party Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

As this facility will not be operational until later in 2025, you will be an integral part of the HR team to help create and sustain the culture. As the company grows your comprehensive expertise and experience to provide HR administrative tasks, compliance, benefits, and payroll processing will be essential in laying the foundation for a strong, employee-focused workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety:

• Promote a safe working environment by implementing health and safety policies.
• Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Work closely with the corporate EHS managers.

Recruitment & Onboarding:

• Actively participate in the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
• Cocreate onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.

Employee Relations:

• Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
• Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee issues and facilitating conflict resolution.

HR Administration:

• Utilize Paylocity HRIS system to streamline HR processes and maintain accuracy of data, employee records, and HR documentation.
• Assist in the implementation and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Participate in HR projects and initiatives to support organizational growth and development.

Training & Development:

• Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
• Support career development initiatives and performance management processes.
• Serve as the main point of contact for employee orientation training.

Collaboration with O&M Team:

• Work closely with the third-party O&M team to align HR practices and ensure seamless integration.
• Address HR-related issues and support the O&M team in achieving operational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proven 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist.
• In-depth knowledge of HR practices, compliance, and regulations.
• Proficiency in Paylocity HRIS system is a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Hands-on experience working in a manufacturing or production plant environment is highly desirable.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Position Mechanics

Reports To: VP, Human Resources

Type: Salaried; full time

Regular Office Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm, some nights and weekends interacting with additional shifts.

Staff: No direct reports

Location: Houston, TX

Work Environment: Professional office.

Travel: The work will mostly be performed locally, though occasional travel should be expected.
