The HR Generalist (People Services) position will execute on a broad range of human resources services in support of business objectives and strategies, with the purpose of enhancing team member engagement, productivity, and growth of The Piada Group. Under the supervision of the Director of People Services, the HR Generalist will deliver on both administrative and strategic responsibilities, including, but not limited to, onboarding, talent management and development, HR compliance, company culture, and optimization of the full team member lifecycle experience.

 

This position is Hybrid and will require multiple days in the office every week during normal business hours. Must be a US Citizen and must live in the Columbus, Ohio area where the Piada Support Center is located. 

Responsibilities

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Supports the Director of People Services with the design, development and implementation of strategic HR initiatives, programs, and processes to deliver top-notch results.

 

  • Partner with team to support workforce planning needs by collaborating with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for positions
  • Support Talent Acquisition initiatives to drive candidate flow and experience
  • Provide an onboarding process that builds team member engagement and fosters an effective, smooth transition into the organization. Continually assess orientation and onboarding programs and processes, and recommendations for enhancement
  • Partners on the annual Performance Management cycle, which may include team member communications, trainings, audits, analysis and timely follow-up is executed to ensure that all milestones occur according to the defined performance management timelines
  • Promote a positive work environment and execute on strategies that build and enhance culture, which may include the planning and management of team member networking events, training sessions, philanthropic initiatives and team member recognition programs
  • Provides consultative services and handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Attends and participates in team member disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Service team member database records and maintain and update internal team member files ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive
  • Serves as support for Piada's ADP Workforce Now 
  • Perform other duties as assigned  

Education, Skills, & Abilities:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with a concentration in human resources, organizational leadership or related field or a minimum of 1-3 years of comprehensive HR generalist experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including onboarding practices, team member relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
  • Ability to work collaboratively and openly with staff at all levels
  • Detail and action-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Collaborative partner with external and internal clients, vendors, candidates, and colleagues
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written 
  • Ability to effectively perform in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who can drive projects to conclusion and work effectively
  • Ability to travel locally and out of state occasionally
  • Maintains confidentiality on HR matters, as appropriate
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Ability to problem solve and think strategically
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
  • Experience working in restaurant industry a plus
  • Approachable and appropriate interacting with staff at all levels in a rapidly changing environment
