Vertical Cold Storage is searching for a proven Human Resources Generalist. This position will work on-site and be located in our Pooler GA location. Bilingual candidate preferred (read, write, and speak Spanish.)

 

 

The Human Resources Generalist position will be responsible for full cycle recruitment, on-boarding & new hire orientation, employee relations, employment law, FMLA, workers compensation, and HRIS for this facility.

Job Title:  Human Resources Generalist

Reports to:  Director of Human Resources

Payroll Status: Exempt

 

Essential Function / Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for full cycle recruitment for all assigned locations.
  • Creates offer letters for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Conducts new hire orientation and on-boarding process for assigned location.
  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. 
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 


Required Skills:

  • Previous Human Resources Generalist experience required, similar industry preferred.
  • Bilingual candidate preferred (read, write, and speak Spanish.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • High School Diploma.
  • A minimum of three to five years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.

 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • While performing the essential functions of this job, this person will work in an office with occasional and/or sporadic exposure to extreme cold and noise. Travel is required including overnight travel and travel via aircraft and/or automobile.
