Hope Christian Services opened as Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat on December 4, 1972 as the only facility of its kind in the state of New Jersey. ECCR expanded into the community in 1986 with the development of community-based group homes, where residents enjoy supervised, supported living. In 1992 ECCR advanced its philosophy of providing a home-like setting for residents with the construction of on-site lodges.

Your Role: As an HR Generalist/Recruiter, you will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with other member of the HR team supporting the overall mission of Hope Christian. The HR Generalist/Recruiter carries out responsibilities of onboarding, benefits administration, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.

What We’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in HR and Recruiting
  • Computer proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Office. excellent Phone skills, recruiting and interviewing skills, people skills. Comfortable managing full cycle recruiting.
  • Knowledge in customized web-based applications and applicant tracking systems
  • Submit to a criminal background check and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to hire
  • Employee shall submit to drug testing prior to employment
  • Employee shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause
  • Agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and Child Abuse Record Information
  • Complete cooperation when the licensee (Hope Christian Services) and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation.

Your Day-to Day:

  • Screen candidates, call applicants, conduct initial interviews. Communicate throughout recruitment and hiring process. Ensure candidates have a complete understanding of job responsibilities, compensation, and training requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the full onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization.
  • Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, and internet sites.
  • Interview and hire, non-exempt and exempt staff. Arrange interview events with department managers.
  • Attend job fairs and coordinate open houses and seek career events to maximize recruiting efforts.
  • Post-employment opportunities in-house and on website. Provide/manage internal promotions/transfers.
  • Track, monitor, and maintain accurate records of employee leave and ensure timely communication with employees and managers.
  • Process reference requests, application response letters, and related pre-employment background checks.
  • Ensure compliance with I-9 employment eligibility verification.
  • Assist with Open Enrollment and provide information to new staff with benefit programs.
  • Provide ongoing information to staff regarding employee benefits, as well as changes in benefits.
  • Generate required reports, gather and analyze data; employee turnover etc.
  • Communicate with supervisor weekly regarding staffing needs as well as recruiting activities.
  • Process worker’s compensation claims and track employees on attendance duty program.
  • Maintain confidentiality of issues pertaining to staff
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and employment laws in employee relations matters
