Job Title: HR Generalists

FLSA Status:  Exempt 

Hours: Monday - Friday 9am to 6pm

Reports to: Vice President of Human Resources

Location: 5225 Tech Data Drive, Clearwater Florida, 33760


Position Summary: 

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including for a staff ranging between 80-115 employees.


  • 40% Employee Relations

  • 25% Documentation / Filing

  • 25% New Hire Onboarding and HRS Updates

  • 10% Providing Coverage as Needed


Duties:

  • Onboarding: facilitate the onboarding process for new hires at a company

  • Workplace policies: enforcing company policies and practices

  • Pay: resolve any problems with employee paychecks.

  • Employee relations: resolve disputes between employees and document employee terminations

  • Benefits: assist employees with benefit enrollment and general questions

  • Workplace safety: address employee safety concerns

  • Hiring: provide backup and support for recruiting department

  • Report concerns and issues to corporate office


Responsibilities:


  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications: 


  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Degree in Human Resources or another related field preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a similar role

  • Knowledge of Human Resources and labor laws

  • Ability to communicate with internal and external team members

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships

  • Good listening skills, with high levels of attention to detail

  • Strong working knowledge of google suite platforms

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize own workload

  • Employee focused approach with adaptability to new situations 


Environmental Factors & Physical Requirements: 

Positions will require employees to work in a call center/office environment. Employees will be exposed to sounds and noise levels at various levels, over-head lighting, computer monitor lighting, and will be able to work near other people.
