Summary
Enforces policies, benefits, employee relations, and records relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Ensures employee and company information is confidentially maintained.
- Coordinates personnel activities including recruiting, interviewing, job descriptions and hiring.
- Coordinates performance management activities including performance evaluations, compensation, attendance and disciplinary issues, policy adherence, and terminations.
- Administers payroll related activities including updating employee data in payroll system, reconciling labor in operating system with time management system, reviewing and submitting bi-weekly payroll and submitting time reports to temporary agencies.
- Administers self-funded medical, vision, dental, and prescription drug, Section 125, life and disability insurance plans, including enrollment, termination, changes, employee questions, annual open enrollment, and maintaining appropriate paperwork in accordance with plan summary document, HIPPA, and DOL requirements. Works in conjunction with LNS America on benefit plan renewals.
- Maintains 401k plan by working with LNS America in order to keep current on regulations and recommendations. Approves and updates forms for deferral changes, loan requests, distribution requests, rollovers, and new enrollees. Compiles and submits 401k data for combined testing and Form 5500 preparation to HR Mgr., LNS America.
- In conjunction with LNS America, recommends updates to company policies and procedures related to Human Resources.
- Oversees workers compensation activities including preparing accident reports, updating OSHA reports and logs, investigating, and reporting claims, coordinating OSHA and WC audits and training.
- Coordinates training needs to enhance employee development, advise on organizational policies, comply with legal requirements and to be in accordance with ISO regulations.
- Maintains and compiles personnel-related data in HRIS and payroll systems, as well as maintains employee files in accordance with regulations.
- Conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals and mission, vision, values.
- Conducts an open-door policy with regards to employee issues/concerns and advises management with an appropriate resolution.
- This includes ensuring drivability in accordance with Vehicle and Driving Policy, adding drivers to insurance policy, investigating, and reporting auto claims, and preparing information for insurance renewals.
- Assists HR Director in annual budget of human resources operations.
- Partners with the HR Director to conducts wage surveys within the labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
