Description

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Location: Onsite Chattanooga, Tn

Reports to: Director of Administration 

Functional Reporting to: Head of US / Director of Human Resources


Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager will serve as a key strategic and operational partner in a high-volume warehousing environment. This role oversees a team of two HR Generalists (covering 1st and 2nd shifts) and a Recruiter, ensuring full HR support across multiple shifts to meet the needs of a multi-shift operation. The HR Manager will provide leadership, guidance, and hands-on support in talent management, workforce planning, compliance, employee relations, and culture building. The HR Manager will be both a strategic partner and a tactical executor, balancing day-to-day workforce needs with long-term organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop two HR Generalists and a Recruiter, building bench strength and ensuring effective coverage across shifts.

• Partner with site leadership to proactively identify workforce needs and align HR strategies with operational goals.

• Act as a coach and advisor to supervisors and managers on employee relations, performance, and leadership development.


Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

• Oversee full-cycle recruiting for hourly and exempt roles in collaboration with the Recruiter.

• Develop staffing models to support fluctuating warehousing volumes and seasonal needs.

• Implement onboarding and orientation programs that reduce turnover and accelerate productivity ramp-up.


Employee Relations & Engagement

• Serve as a trusted advisor for conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and disciplinary actions.

• Foster a positive employee experience by promoting engagement, recognition, and retention programs.

• Partner with operations leadership to improve communication and strengthen culture across shifts.


Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws (including OSHA, EEOC, FMLA, ADA).

• Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures; provide training to managers on compliance and HR best practices.

• Monitor workplace safety and partner with EHS teams to reduce injuries and workers’ comp costs.


HR Strategy & Metrics

• Leverage HR data and KPIs (turnover, absenteeism, cost per hire, time to fill) to inform decision making.

• Drive continuous improvement in HR service delivery by implementing process efficiencies.

• Contribute to enterprise-wide HR initiatives led by the Head of US / HR Director, ensuring consistency in programs and execution.

Requirements


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certification preferred) OR equivalent years of relevant experience.

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

• Prior HR experience in warehousing, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing strongly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices.

• Demonstrated ability to build trust, influence leadership, and drive results in a fast-paced, matrix environment.

• Proficiency with HRIS systems and data-driven decision making.
