Administration and development of Human Resources related programs and policies as well as the leave and benefits program while fostering a positive work environment that drives employee engagement and retention.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Ensure that all company policies and procedures maintain compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and are being administered consistently and fairly by managers and supervisors
- Prepare and maintain associate handbook and all amendments to ensure that all policies and procedures are updated in accordance with all federal, state and local employment laws, regulations and company policies.
- Training managers to coach and discipline employees, scheduling conferences with employees, hearing and resolving employee grievances, assist in disciplinary procedures, counseling employees and supervisors.
- Maintain human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system, keeping past and current records
- Represent the company at all employment related hearings
- Benefit Administration to include open enrollment, claims filing and resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, reconciliation of internal and external records/billings.
- Conduct and analyze the results of stay interviews and exit interviews on associates.
- Maintain and update HR SharePoint and Paycom Portal with current information/news.
- Contract with outside suppliers to provide temporary employee services and provide recommendations on temporary rates and increases.
- Assist in the recruiting and onboarding of salaried associates.
- Provide policy input regarding possible changes or revisions to improve benefits and reduce costs for the company.
- Must be capable of responding to highly sensitive and delicate issues concerning the company and/or the associates with confidence, extreme tact, confidentiality and politeness.
- Primary Administrator of Timekeeping System including policy changes, reporting, schedules, timekeeping, record retention, and time off.
- Responsible for FMLA administration and compliance as well as all other leave policies
- Maintain an open-door policy to all associates regarding any problems relating to personnel issues, employee benefits, supervisors, etc.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommend best practices
- Maintain and submit required reports for governmental purposes and internal company purposes.
- Backup for Hourly and Salary Payroll
- Responsible for Affirmative Action Program.
- Perform other duties as required or requested.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required.
- Workshop/Seminar Courses in related field.
- SHRM-SCP preferred
- At least five (10) years’ experience in human resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
