Human Resource Manager (Benefits & Compensation)

 

DUTIES:

This position is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance plan, flexible spending plan, 401 (k) plan and retirement plan for the CG NAF workforce. While reporting to the Assistant Director, Human Resources, this critical role will provide oversight of the HR technologies used within the organization and administer various employee benefit programs, such as medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, group life insurance, 401-

(k) and retirement. Manages and oversees Reasonable Accommodation (RA) process for all NAF employees. Collects information and requests from employees, researches accommodation options, and works with Civil Rights to approve and/or deny requests. Manages and oversees military and FMLA leave administration for NAF employees and conducts comprehensive compensation analyses to inform employment decisions and salary adjustments. Mitigates command risk by ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Advise and train managers on RA process and requirements. Provide information to managers and employees regarding policies and regulations; addressing a variety of issues and/or providing general support; maintaining records, files and databases of personnel actions, evaluations, and longevity; and assisting in ensuring that personnel functions conform to all applicable regulatory requirements.

 

Drafts policies and procedures, newsletter articles, emails to customer base regarding benefits and HR information technology systems. Uses HR background and expertise to support HR functions, processes, and procedures. When needed, this position will serve to provide customers with general HR guidance, Employee Relations Support, Training, and Administrative functions.

 

Supervises the staff, hiring, evaluating, training, coaching and scheduling employees. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Minimum:

  1. Five (5) years of progressive HR experience or Associate’s Degree in HR or related field of study be substituted for 2 years of experience.
  2. Experience with Administering Benefits programs, compliance associated with Federal HR laws and regulations for benefits and compensation.
  1. Strong understanding of Compensation Management, pay administration and regulatory standards.
  2. Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Microsoft Office, and PowerPoint.
  3. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20lbs may be required

 

Preferred (in addition to the minimum): 

  1. Prior NAF HR experience
  2. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRP-SP, or CEBS certification
  3. Advanced experience with ADP Workforce Now
  4. Bachelor’s degree or higher in HR or related field with concentration in compensation and benefits administration
