Job Description: HR Manager
Objective: The HR Manager will play a pivotal role in aligning human resources practices with the strategic goals of the organization and overseeing the Training department. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to collaborate with senior leaders, manage day-to-day HR functions, and drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, talent acquisition, and retention.
Classification: This position is a Full-Time Exempt position who reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Location: Howard, Hamilton, or Indianapolis area
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with the Chief Administrative Officer and senior leaders to ensure HR practices align with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Act as a strategic advisor to leadership on HR-related matters, providing insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the HR Generalist on daily HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, HRIS management, and benefits administration.
- Ensure efficient and effective HR operations that support the needs of the organization.
- Maintain, develop, and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and industry standards.
- Regularly review and update policies to reflect changes in legislation and best practices.
- Along with the HR Generalist, serve as a key resource for employees and management, providing guidance on HR-related issues and resolving conflicts.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Develop and implement strategies for employee engagement, talent acquisition, and retention.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to identify and address talent gaps and opportunities.
- Assist the Training department in designing, delivering, and managing training programs for employees at all levels.
- Collaborate with department leaders to assess training needs and develop tailored learning initiatives that support departmental objectives.
- Assist the Training department in the creation and management of training materials, tools, and resources to enhance employee skills and productivity.
- Measure the effectiveness of training programs and adjust approaches to ensure continuous improvement.
- Other miscellaneous duties assigned by the Chief Administrative Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience in training and development is a plus.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, compliance regulations, and employee relations.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in designing and implementing training programs and evaluating their effectiveness.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
