Job Purpose:
In keeping a tradition of excellence, the purpose of the Human Resources Specialist is to assist with day to day operations of the Human Resources Department. This employee is to stay current and provide services and resources to administration and teachers that assure RCSD policy, state guidelines and laws are met while guiding staff, parents, and students, with appropriate instructional support and resources. Duties and responsibilities
Maintain confidentiality.
Compile board minutes of personnel changes to be presented to the Board.
Process and complete personnel forms with accuracy while meeting deadlines.
Maintain and update several database systems with accuracy while meeting deadlines.
Communicate with directors, principals, supervisors, and district employees for the purpose of providing assistance with regard to personnel issues and changes.
Perform record keeping and clerical functions (such as filing, answering telephones, copying,
faxing, creating new hire packets, etc.).
Assist visitors, periodically presenting with recruitment, on-boarding, and at orientation events.
Assist department staff in their tasks for the purpose of increasing department efficiency and
productivity.
Assist with verification of employment requests of previous and current employees.
Provide various data reports.
Ensure adherence to all state and district policies and procedures.
Maintain and accept responsibility for any district owned fixed asset item assigned to employees and ensure appropriate use by following district policies for acceptable use.
Undergo periodic evaluations according to state and board policy procedures.
Regular, dependable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Perform such other and not specifically enumerated duties as may be requested by the Board of Education, superintendent, administrator, director or established by district policy.
Qualifications:
Education Level: Bachelor’s degree or higher
Certification: Human Resources experience or certification preferred
Other Requirements: Ability to manipulate data in various electronic formats, eye for detail, ability to adhere to timeframes for producing accurate work, ability to work well with others

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using equipment such as a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, reach, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, viewing both on and off screen documents for details and data manipulation.

The work environment is a standard office setting; encompassing the entire active district office campus both inside and outside the facilities.
