Reports To: Director of HR
PCCA is a marketing cooperative owned by farmers in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and New Mexico dedicated to supplying sustainably-grown, high-quality cotton fiber around the world. PCCA also owns cotton warehouse facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. In addition to cotton marketing and warehousing services, PCCA provides innovative technology solutions to gins that help add more value to our grower-owners’ cotton.
Position Purpose
The Human Resources Specialist plays a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle and overall HR operations. This position oversees onboarding and termination processes, provides recruitment support, administers HR programs, assists with training and performance management, ensures compliance, supports workers’ compensation administration, and leads engagement initiatives. The HR Specialist also serves as an administrative and operational partner to the HR team, assisting with a wide range of HR functions to ensure efficient, consistent, and compliant HR service delivery.
What You Will Do
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Coordinate and oversee new hire onboarding, including orientation, paperwork completion, and system setup.
- Manage employee offboarding and termination processes, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR files.
- Assist with coordinating employee training programs, including scheduling, tracking completion, and maintaining records.
- Support the administration of performance review processes and timelines.
- Provide administrative support for performance documentation and goal tracking.
- Assist managers with performance management tools, resources, and procedures.
- Plan, coordinate, and support employee engagement initiatives, events, and recognition programs.
- Assist with employee communications that promote a positive workplace culture.
- Maintain and update HR resources, guides, and tools for supervisors and managers on PCCA Connect.
- Provide administrative support for leadership training and development resources.
- Track and maintain records for the company’s tuition reimbursement/education assistance program.
Recruitment & Talent Support
- Provide recruiting support, including job postings, applicant tracking, scheduling interviews, and candidate communications.
- Assist in organizing and attending career fairs, hiring events, and community workforce outreach.
- Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
- Occasional travel to recruitment events and career fairs
HR Team Support & Administrative Functions
- Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and company policies.
- Maintain required employment documentation and assist with audits and reporting.
- Support policy updates and compliance training initiatives.
- Provide support to the HR team across a broad range of HR functions and initiatives.
- Assist with HR reporting, audits, and special projects.
- Maintain HR documentation, files, and data tracking systems.
- Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth HR department operations.
- Assist with employee relations matters, including documentation, investigations, support, and follow-up tracking.
- Provide guidance on HR processes and policies.
- Assist with reporting workplace injuries and filing workers’ compensation claims.
- Coordinate communication between employees, supervisors, medical providers, and insurance carriers.
- Track workers' compensation claims status and maintain related documentation.
- Support return-to-work processes and ensure proper recordkeeping.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of HR experience preferred.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
