Description

Summary/objective:

The Human Resource Specialist provides administrative support to the human resources functions as needed, including payroll, record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry.


Essential functions

  • Owns full cycle recruitment and interview process including but not limited to tracking the status of candidates, onboarding, verifying identification, orientation, and maintaining communication through the end of the recruitment process.
  •  Assists with processing of terminations.
  •  Mails, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions as needed.
  •  Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
  •  Assists with open enrollment and employee benefit administration.
  •  Provides weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to the Director of Human Resources.
  •  Assists with HR projects as needed.
  •  Maintains records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates, etc.) in both paper and electronic forms while maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements

Competencies

  •  Must possess strong written and oral communication skills to allow for effective communication in a cross functional environment.
  •  Must possess proficient computer skills including working knowledge of MS Office Suite and payroll software.

Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  •  Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  •  Must have excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Work environment

  •  Primarily in office
  •  High paced environment

Physical demands

  •  Up to 10lbs of force exerted occasionally.
  •  Up to 5lbs frequently
  •  Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and standing

Travel required

  •  Required to travel to unassigned facility a minimum of twice per week and may vary based on company needs.

Required education and experience

  •  Associates degree
  •  Minimum of two years in an administrative support role
  •  Proven experience as a payroll clerk or a payroll administrator.

Preferred education and experience

  •  Previous working knowledge of HRIS systems
  •  Previous working knowledge of ATS systems
