SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources for activities associated with the human resources department on any administrative needs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain that all HR forms are updated and stocked, staying organized.
  • Maintain identification badge system and create replacement badges.  
  • Prepare Prox/ID Cards and parking passes.
  • Alert Security of terms and remove access of prox cards.
  • Put together new hire files and audit prior to filing.
  • Process all termination files and pull I-9 for purge.
  • Enter all payroll maintenance items (W-4, address changes, direct deposit) in payroll system.
  • Manage time off and missed punches for each payroll.
  • Train employees on timeclock and ESS system.
  • Monitor point system and disciplinary actions.
  • Scan disciplinary actions and close items in point system.
  • Prepare monthly insurance packets for new hires. 
  • Reconcile monthly insurance invoices.
  • Maintain of employee personnel files which includes filing.
  • Handle vending issues and contact vendor. 
  • Assist with new hires orientation. 
  • Order all supplies for HR office.
  • Log applications when received. 
  • Translates documents as needed.
  • Maintain information on Bulletin Boards.
  • Assist with projects and open enrollment as needed. 
  • Assist with training as needed.
  • Assist with Company employee events.
  • Handles all employment verifications for employees.
  • Scan active and term files into Global Search.
  • Assist employees with questions. 
  • Protects all proprietary information including, but not limited to memoranda and other documents. Keeps all employee information confidential and discreet.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work well with others.

  • Knowledge of use of a wide variety of measuring instruments and experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1-3 years in human resources, industrial relation or a related and 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing environment; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English.  Must be able to communicate effectively as indicated by the need of the audience.  Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred but not required.

 

CONTACTS:

           Communicates with internal and external customers to resolve all issues or problems which require resourcefulness, tact and discretion. Applies broad knowledge of Human Resource regulations and policies when communicating with individuals outside the immediate work area/department.

 

MATHEMATICAL/FINANCIAL SKILLS:

Works with significant deadlines that can result in a disruption to projects, service or products that impact operational cost and/or revenue. Able to apply mathematical concepts such as percentages, ratios, fractions and proportions. 

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply general knowledge of Human Resource regulations and policies to analyze and resolve problems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Full time regular position that works Monday through Friday, generally 8 hours per day. Travel is not required for this position.   

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The office environment is typically climate controlled of 68ºF to 72ºF and clean, with normal air contaminants, such as dust, typically found in an office environment
  • The indoor production environment is climate-controlled of -40ºF to 45ºF with regular exposure to prolonged noise
  • While in the production area, all employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include hair and beard nets, rubber soled shoes, smocks, hearing protection and hard hats.
