Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.

• Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.

• Verifies timekeeping data (time sheets and approvals); reviewing time sheets for accuracy.

• May assist with payroll functions including processing and fixing processing errors.

• Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.

• Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.

• Provides clerical support to the HR department.

• Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.

• Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment and organization-wide meetings.

• Generates HR-related reports as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), payroll management, and similar computer applications.

Requirements of the Position

• Education & Certification - Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.

• Recommended Work Experience - Prior office experience preferred.

• Physical Demands - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

• Working Conditions - Work from designated space in the Orangeburg Corporate Office required daily; Occasional local and regional travel to external meetings and functions; Periodic travel to project sites as required; Potential work outside normal business hours.
