POSITION: Human Resources Assistant
START DATE: Immediate
LENGTH: 12-month, full-time position - 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
SALARY: $29.00 / hour
Candidate must provide administrative support to the Human Resources Office with maintaining accurate employee resources, assisting with the recruitment and hiring process, onboarding, offboarding, managing internal and external communications for the department and other key HR areas. The candidate must be highly organized, self-motivated and able to prioritize work. He/she must be detail oriented and able to produce work with a high degree of accuracy. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Candidate must interact effectively in a professional manner with students, staff, parents and the public and be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
This is a supportive role for the HR Department that will often interact with employees and must demonstrate a service-oriented approach to the staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, forms and reports, arranging meetings, processing confidential reports and documents, filing electronic and hard copy, tracking deadlines
Provide exceptional level of customer service to staff
Ensure strict confidentiality of all staff and school information
Submit and manage online job postings
Act as a liaison between the district and colleges / universities for Student Teacher placements / internships
Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding
Track and assist with new employee background screenings and employment verification
Maintain accuracy of department spreadsheets
Coordinate orientation and training sessions for new employees
Review lane advancement requests from certified staff
Collaborate with departments and personnel to ensure personnel needs are met and employee engagement efforts are maintained
Manage sensitive and confidential matters like personnel relations, employee relations and organizational changes, planning and protecting the security of information, data and files.
Assist with credentialing, auditing, licenses and inspections
Maintain employee files and ensure that the files are up to date
Contribute to team effort by assisting with projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma. College degree is preferred.
Familiarity with HRIS systems is highly preferred (Skyward)
Excellent computer skills needed, including proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Acces), PowerSchool, as well as building and student-management systems.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Sense of urgency with the ability to multitask under pressure

Previous experience in a human resources or administrative support role
