Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The HR Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Department. This position supports the HR Manager and HR Coordinator in daily HR operations, helping to ensure an efficient workflow while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with applicable policies, internal controls, and gaming regulations. The HR Assistant plays a key role in maintaining organized HR processes, accurate records, and a professional and confidential workplace at all times.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Provide administrative support to the HR Manager and HR Coordinator in daily departmental operations
  • Assist with onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes for team members
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files in accordance with tribal policies and gaming regulations
  • Support HRIS data entry, updates, and maintenance (e.g., Paycom or similar systems)
  • Assist with scheduling interviews, meetings, trainings, and employee communications
  • Prepare HR documents including letters, disciplinary notices, policy acknowledgements, and employment forms
  • Support tracking of attendance, leave requests, and progressive discipline documentation
  • Respond to general employee HR inquiries and route complex matters to HR leadership
  • Assist with distribution and tracking of employee handbook updates and policy acknowledgements
  • Support compliance with tribal gaming regulations, internal controls, and HR audit requirements Assist with HR projects, reporting, and special assignments as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all employee, operational, and gaming-related information

 



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Previous administrative, HR, or casino hospitality experience preferred
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn tribal gaming operations and regulatory compliance standards
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HRIS systems
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest- and team-member-focused environment

  • While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and required to move throughout the Casino floor and exposed to a non-smoke-free environment.

  • If none of the applicants should meet the stated qualifications, applicants whose education and experience are less than the stated requirements, may be interviewed and hired provided the applicant hired submits a formal written training plan within (30) thirty days which can be completed within a “reasonable time” agreed upon by the supervisor and the applicant. Applicants who are hired and fail to meet the agreed upon formal training program, will be discharged upon failure to complete the specified training as scheduled. A drug test will be required prior to employment and periodically thereafter.
