Job Summary:

Provides overall support to the Human Resources department

Minimum Required Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate’s degree

Minimum Required Experience: 

 

  • Preferred: One to two years Human Resources and Recruiting experience

Required Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of all facets of Human Resources field.
  • Working knowledge of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) payroll system and Jenzabar (J1).
  • Working knowledge of Docubase Imaging Software.
  • Working knowledge of the Hill College vision and mission.  

Essential Job Functions

  • Performs general administrative support tasks including departmental records maintenance, filing, coordinating appointments, answering the phone, responding to, and/or directing, calls to the appropriate resource, typing correspondence, ordering supplies, and greeting visitors, faculty, staff and students.
  • Submits maintenance and IT work orders.
  • Maintains employee & applicant records, including current employee, former employee, and student employee personnel files.  Leads document imaging/retention functions. 
  • Works with the Executive Director of Human Resources on special projects and performs administrative support for all of the areas within Human Resources.
  • Assists with recruitment activities including requisition process, job postings, screening applicants for minimum requirements, scheduling interviews, and updating the online system with status changes. Maintains files and records on recruitment and selection decisions. 
  • Coordinates and trains selection committees as needed; participates in interviews as needed
  • Conducts and documents thorough reference and background checks on all prospective employees prior to hire.
  • Coordinates and maintains Employee Service Awards recoginition program. 
  • Develops, edits, and maintains the HR website and the Hill College faculty/staff directory.

  • Travels between campuses as necessary.
  • Security sensitive position.
  • Current Texas Driver’s License

Physical Requirements: 

  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time.   Walking and standing are required occasionally.
