Salary: $25-30.00 per hour, based on years of experience
Schedule: Full-Time; Monday- Friday 8:00a-4:30p
Summary:
The Human Resources Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations within the Human Resource department while assisting the Human Resources Manager in administering key human resources processes and programs including recruitment, orientation, training and professional development, performance management, and compensation/benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists with the recruitment process including placing posting internal job opening notices, accepting applications, conducting pre-screening, scheduling interviews, conducting background checks, administering pre-employment testing.
2. Assists with the administration of the training program to ensure that all team members meet training requirements for their position.
3. Communicates training requirements for each position, ensures all team members attend required training, and complete on-line training.
4. Facilitate or assist with new team member orientation.
5. Assists with the team member performance management process by tracking performance reviews through outlook and other means and communicating upcoming review dates to department directors and team members.
6. Assists with the maintenance of records of licenses and certifications, including CPR/ First Aid, LPN, C.N.A, RN, Servsafe and others as needed for each department. Alert team members and supervisors of license/ certification expiry dates and update records when dates are renewed.
7. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
8. Assists with the administration of team member benefits programs as needed.
9. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
10. Assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, distributing checks, and filing of payroll records as needed.
11. Ensures state and federal regulatory and record keeping requirements are met with regard to fair labor standards, compensation, hiring, and unemployment compensation by posting the most up to date mandatory postings in a timely manner.
12. Assists with maintenance of Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database as requested.
13. Assists with the administration of employee appreciation programs including recognition of birthdays, anniversaries, team member of the month awards, 60 Minutes Meetings, publishing stories on team newsletters and facilitating the employee appreciation committee.
14. Attend training courses and participate in other professional development activities as required.
15. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
16. Provides clerical support to the HR department.
17. Performs other duties as assigned.
