Human Resources Assistant


Location: Greenville, Michigan

Reports to: Group Director of Human Resources

Employment Status: Hourly non-exempt


Middleby Refrigeration is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team in Greenville, MI. This essential role provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department, ensuring smooth day-to-day processes, accurate recordkeeping, and exceptional employee service.

Expected Hours of Work: 

This position is full-time. The general scheduled workdays are Monday through Friday.


Position Overview:


The HR Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the HR team with administrative tasks, employee relations, and compliance initiatives. You will assist with maintaining employee records, coordinating HR programs, and providing frontline support to employees.


Responsibilities:

  • Employee Records: Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and HR databases.
  • Recruitment Support: Post job openings, schedule interviews, and assist with candidate communications.
  • Onboarding: Prepare new hire materials, assist with orientation, and ensure completion of required documents.
  • Benefits Administration: Provide employees with information and support on benefits enrollment and questions.
  • Policy Compliance: Help ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws.
  • HR Reporting: Assist with HR metrics, tracking, and reporting as needed.
  • Event Coordination: Support employee engagement activities, training sessions, and HR initiatives.
  • General Administrative Support: Handle routine HR inquiries, prepare correspondence, and assist with special projects.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional HR-related tasks as assigned by Director.


Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • 1–2 years of experience in human resources or administrative support (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred


Working Conditions: 

  • Office based 
  • 8-hour shifts
  • Monday- Friday
