Position Summary

This part-time position assists the Director of Human Resources in a variety of H.R. functions including but not limited to recruitment and onboarding, tracking and paying insurance premiums, and responding to employee inquiries as appropriate. Understands and completes job responsibilities in accordance with federal and state compliance regulations. Ensures the highest level of performance according to our Culture of CARE.  

Essential Job Functions

  1. Responsible for all phases of the recruiting and hiring process fully utilizing the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), e.g., ADP.  This includes but is not limited to posting jobs, screening applicants, scheduling and conducting interviews, extending offers to selected candidates, administering pre-employment process, and notifying non-selected candidates/applicants.   
  2. May distribute Annual Performance Reviews to employees through HRIS.  
  3. Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure understanding of Culture of CARE, time off programs, and benefits if applicable.  
  4. Enroll employees in relevant training programs and track Training Budget expenditures. 
  5. Track and approve payment of benefit plans including health, dental, HRA/HSA/flex spending reimbursements, life/AD&D/long-term disability monthly bills.  
  6. Maintain legally required and other records and documentation on employees utilizing HRIS. 
  7. Assist with open enrollment and other benefits related projects.  
  8. Formulate and recommend improvements to employment processes, policies, and practices. 
  9. Run, audit, and create queries and reports as needed. 
  10. Develop quick reference guides and maintain and update employee information and resources in ADP. 
  11. May assist the Controller with processing bi-weekly payroll. 
  12. Lead miscellaneous projects and assignments related to all functional areas of Human Resources. 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides birthday and anniversary information monthly to the Executive Assistant and the Marketing department. 
  2. Participate in community partnership events and activities. 
  3. Performs other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.

Software/Technology 

Operates a personal computer in a Windows environment for word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, internet / intranet, HRIS (currently ADP), and other bank specific software.  Utilizes a variety of office equipment including computer printer, calculator, fax/scanner/copier, and multi-line telephone.

Education and Experience

Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources in process or completed, or three years of human resources experience required.   Prefer experience in or knowledge of HRIS such as ADP, recruitment and selection, benefits, wage and hour compliance, major employment laws (such as Title VII, FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, COBRA, etc.), and policy.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office environment, during normal business hours. Deadline pressure is an integral part of the job.  Regular mental and visual concentration for computer usage and reading/assimilating complex and technical compliance information is required.  Position will alternate between walking, sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds of office supplies and/or documents throughout work shift.
