Summary/Objective: Performs a variety of responsible and administrative duties relating to personnel functions and programs including in the areas of employment recruitment, and employee relations.
Essential Functions
Greet those arriving with appointments as well as walk-ins. Answers phones, open, read and answers email. Open and distribute mail and faxes.
Coordination of special projects. (United Way, Ace Store, Lab Week, Department giveaways, flowers. Etc…) Oversees all sales and orders with the department. (Ex: Movie tickets, T-shirt, Theme parks). Turns in monthly inventory and monies to accounting to balance account.
Process employee subpoenas, employment verifications, Employee Confirmation, unemployment forms, E-Verify
Mark off appropriate merit reviews into Paylocity and make sure all items are attached
Creates folders for New Hires
Maintains Breast feeding rooms log and makes sure rooms are clean and ready.
Assist new hires with the appropriate forms on their first day or during orientation.
Provide assistance to HR Manager with special projects and employee activities as needed and requested.
Required Education and Experience: High School graduate or GED required. AA degree strongly preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience: Must have 3-5 years employment experience in Human Resources. Two years of clerical experience with strong PC skills including Word and Excel.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle difficult situation in a calm and courteous manner. The ability to exercise judgment and discretion in releasing personnel records of information. Ability to prioritize and mult-task various assignments.
