The Bohemian Grove is situated on 2,700 acres of towering redwood forest in the lower Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. For more than 150 years Club members and their guests have ventured to the Grove to enjoy and partake in the arts, music, literature and drama as well as nature walks and fine dining.

Human Resources Assistant

The Human Resources Assistant will support the HR Director and the Payroll Administrator with onboarding 400+ seasonal employees from April through July. This role is a key part of our HR team and will provide hands‑on support throughout the duration of our camp season.

Provide in‑person guidance to staff throughout the HR process.

Collaborate closely with the HR Director, Payroll Administrator, and broader HR team.

 Interact with employees at various stages of onboarding and event preparation.

Perform duties at two primary work locations:

  • Santa Rosa, CA
  • Monte Rio, CA

 

DUTIES

  • Prepare reports as needed for management and security.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Verifies I-9 documentation and filing.
  • Using badge machines to create security badges for employees.
  • Updates ADP with new and returning employee information.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process.
  • Makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical functions.
  • Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good oral and written communication in English.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Team player.
  • Quality control to demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Dependability, the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
  • Safety and security, the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus!
  • Able to be discreet and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be eighteen years or older.
  • English/Spanish speaking preferred.

 

*California workers must receive the following breaks:

  • An uninterrupted 30-minute unpaid meal break when working more than five (5+) hours in a day.
  • An additional 30-minute unpaid meal break when working more than 12 hours in a day.
  • A paid 10-minute rest period for every four hours worked.
