Job Summary:

The Human Resources Assistant performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the Human Resources department.  This role is responsible for delivering consistent HR administration, employee relations support, onboarding, and compliance coordination, while escalating complex matters to the Human Resource Managers as appropriate. The HR Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining operational continuity, responsiveness, and compliance.  This position will be on-site in Nampa, Idaho.  

Duties/Responsibilities:

Employee Relations and Support

  • Answer basic employee questions about HR policies and benefit offerings.

  • Assist with employee relations matters by gathering information, preparing documentation, and supporting investigations under HRM’s direction.

  • Promote a positive employee experience through timely communication, professionalism, and consistency.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Talent Acquisition and Onboarding

  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding for local and remote employees.

  • Support recruiting efforts during high-volume hiring periods, including interview scheduling and pre-employment processes.

  • Ensure completion and accuracy of new hire documentation and system entry.

Compliance and HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate and timely HR records, including personnel files, attendance, disciplinary, and leave records.

  • Track and administer FMLA, ADA, and other leave requests in coordination with the Human Resources Managers and Legal Counsel.

  • Support policy distribution, employee acknowledgments, and compliance related training logistics.

  • Assist with HR and OSHA audit preparation and documentation as requested.

  • Conduct exit interviews and manage offboarding processes.

  • 30/60/90 day employee follow-ups.

Performance Management and Reporting

  • Support performance management processes, including review scheduling, documentation tracking, and employee follow-up.

  • Compile and maintain workforce data, reports, and dashboards related to headcount, turnover, absenteeism, safety, and other key metrics.

  • Ensure HR data integrity and confidentiality.

Culture and Engagement

  • Reinforce company values and expected behaviors through daily interaction and consistent messaging.

  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications.

  • Assist with change initiatives by coordinating communication, scheduling, and employee outreach.

Authority and Decision-Making

  • Handles routine HR inquiries and administrative actions independently.

  • Escalates investigations, disciplinary decisions, and complex employee relations matters to the HRMs.

  • Partners with Legal Counsel and HRMs on compliance related matters as directed.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of progressive HR Administrative experience, preferably in manufacturing, multi-site, or retail environments.  

  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.

  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and other reporting tools.

  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with remote HR leadership.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged desk/computer work; ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.

  • Repetitive motion for typing/data entry.

  • Clear communication via phone, video, and in-person meetings.

  • Occasional standing, walking, or bending for filing or plant needs.
