JOB SUMMARY:

Provides comprehensive, proactive, strategic, and day-to-day human resources support to assigned customer groups or locations. This role creates partnerships across the HR and business functions to deliver value-added services to management and teammates, reflective of the organization’s objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Builds and maintains strong, trusting and transparent relationships with teammates and leadership. Provides recommendations to HR team on creating and maintaining an engaged workforce. Coordinates related initiatives.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Supports assigned departments with change management.
  • Supports exempt and non-exempt recruiting efforts. Provides critical feedback on candidates and assists onboarding new teammates and ensures the teammate experience is conducted to foster a positive work environment toward company OKRs.
  • Facilitates performance management program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • In conjunction with the HR compensation team, HR Lead and department managers, makes compensation recommendations.
  • Supports department succession planning process.
  • Acts as a consultant to management in handling teammate performance issues including decisions around disciplinary action and review of any related documentation prior to meeting with teammate, ensuring compliance with company policy, federal and state employment laws.
  • Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Analyzes HR data to provide recommendations for recruiting, sourcing and retention strategies.
  • Prepares teammate separation notices and related documentation and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Locational business partners will also have responsibility for leading safety initiatives, teammate onboarding, managing training initiatives, among other location specific items.
  • Provides broad expertise to bring innovative solutions to the to the HR Business Partner group.

 

SECONDARY DUTIES:

  • Leads or assists with special events (job shadows, special visitor tours, teammate recognitions or other company activities).
  • Works with management and corporate communications on teammate or company announcements.
  • Identifies training needs for department.
  • Performs other duties, as requested.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field and 2-4 years of experience in human resources discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within human resources discipline. A PHR certification is desired.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as HRIS systems (Oracle preferred)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • No direct reports. May mentor HR co-op or administrator.
