Position Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic and operational partner to business leaders, providing guidance and support in all areas of human resources, including employee relations, talent management, performance development, organizational design, and workforce planning. This role acts as a trusted advisor, aligning HR strategies with business objectives to drive engagement, retention, and overall company success. 

Overview

  • Focuses on delivering day-to-day HR partnership and execution for assigned client groups, with guidance from HR leadership
  • Performs core HRBP responsibilities across employee relations, performance management, and talent partnership, while building proficiency and consistency
  • Typically supports a defined scope (district/region/function) and escalates higher risk matters as needed

Responsibilities and Duties 

Business Partnership & Strategy

  • Collaborate with department leaders to understand business objectives and align HR initiatives with operational goal
  • Serve as a consultant to management on people-related issues, providing data-driven recommendations and practical HR solutions
  • Partner with leadership to assess organizational needs and support change management initiatives

 Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees regarding performance, conflict resolution, and company policy interpretation
  • Conduct thorough and objective investigations of employee relations concerns
  • Support programs that enhance employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture

 Performance Management & Development

  • Partner with managers to implement effective performance review and feedback processes
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate training and development initiatives with the HR Director and Learning & Development team
  • Support leadership development and succession planning effort

 Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Collaborate with the Recruiting team to forecast staffing needs and develop hiring strategies
  • Participate in interviews for key positions and ensure a positive candidate experience
  • Support workforce planning efforts, including organizational restructuring and headcount management

 Compensation & HR Operations

  • Partner with HR leadership to ensure pay practices are equitable and aligned with company compensation philosophy
  • Maintain accuracy of employee data in the HRIS and support payroll, benefits, and compliance processes
  • Monitor HR metrics such as turnover, retention, and engagement to identify trends and recommend improvements

 Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as a liaison between employees and management to foster transparent communication
  • Support cross-departmental projects and company initiatives that promote an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

Education and Work Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Typically, 3+ years of progressive HR experience (HR Generalist/Coordinator background), building toward HRBP scope

Skill Set 

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion with confidential information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred)
