As a Human Resources Business Partner at Skechers, you'll lead HR operations for an assigned group of Retail Stores in our rapidly expanding U.S. retail division, reporting to the Director of HR. The HRBP, Retail serves as the centralized point of contact for Regional Sales Managers, District Sales Managers, and Store-level leaders in your region. You will implement and execute strategic HR programs and initiatives to drive our growth as we open new stores across the region.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Serve as the primary HR partner and champion of change for an assigned geographic region, providing strategic guidance and support to Regional and District Managers in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Build relationships with field leaders, collaborating closely with global HR leadership to implement necessary changes effectively.
  • Implement and execute HR strategies crucial to Skechers' expanding retail division, ensuring best practices in talent management, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development.
  • Lead and support key HR processes, including:
    • Annual performance review process
    • Talent planning initiatives
    • Succession planning
    • Store-level compensation increase programs
    • Turnover analysis and reduction strategies
  • Facilitate calibration sessions with retail field leadership (Regional and District Sales Managers) and conduct talent evaluation exercises using performance and potential frameworks.
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding:
    • Partner with Regional Recruiters to develop and execute talent acquisition strategies for your assigned region.
    • Support new store openings (NSOs) by collaborating on staffing strategies and monitoring onboarding and training processes.
    • Make job offers to management hires and assist with relocation processes for field leadership hires or promotions.
    • Conduct market compensation research and analysis to inform hiring decisions.
    • Conduct internal interviews for Store Manager positions.
  • Conduct market visits to provide training, support key HR initiatives, and assess store needs.
  • Support field leadership in addressing employee performance issues and concerns, adapting strategies to meet evolving retail challenges.
  • Analyze payroll and financial reporting data to develop strategies with field leadership.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the store-level Areas of Responsibility (AOR) Program, ensuring effective store operations and management team development.
  • Drive change management initiatives, helping the organization navigate and embrace ongoing transformations in the retail landscape.

  • Corporate HR functions, including HRIS/People Operations, L&D, Organizational Effectiveness, People Compliance, and Payroll
     

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; or a combination of relevant college-level coursework and HR certification (such as SHRM or PHR)
  • 5+ years of experience in HR, preferably in a retail environment
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and talent management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with HRIS and HR analytics; Workday knowledge preferred
  • SHRM or PHR certification preferred
  • Spanish language skills a plus


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Remote WFH role with occasional travel within the assigned geographic region (multiple geographies may be available, Eastern or Central time zone a plus)
  • Residence near a major airport hub to facilitate travel
