PURPOSE:
The human resources business partner is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with all levels of the organization. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, recruiting, retention, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, employment law compliance, as well as health & safety compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY:
Acts as trusted resource to managers and employees on a wide variety of human resources topics, including policy interpretation, benefits, workers' compensation, employee investigations, and pay-related issues.
Coaches and counsels management on employee relations issues, performance management, and employee and team development.
Recommends enhancements to HR processes.
Develops effective recruitment and retention strategies to ensure the availability of a competent workforce.
Leads candidate screening and selection process for key positions.
Identifies and facilitates development opportunities in the organization, including leadership training, one-on-one coaching, development of employee engagement strategies, and onboarding.
Actively engages with all employees to develop a deep understanding of business operations and strategy to anticipate and recommend effective HR strategy and practices aligned with the business.
Gathers metrics and uses data analytics to understand and identify business issues and drive recommendations.
Collaborates with leadership on organization re-design/restructuring, development of position descriptions, position classifications, and salary recommendations.
Identifies organizational issues that limit effectiveness and collaborates with management and HR to develop and deliver practical solutions.
Culture-driver to align business goals with people development initiatives.
Partners with leadership to effectively move the organization through significant change management such as growth, restructuring, and process improvement.
Leads compliance requirements in the areas of employment law, benefits administration, as well as health & safety.
RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Reports to Vice President, Human Resources
2. Interfaces with all levels of staff.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or equivalent education and experience required. Professional certification in Human Resources preferred.
Minimum Experience: Five (5) years of Human Resources experience resolving complex employee relations issues, or any similar combination of education and experience preferred.
Extensive working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines principles and practices including compensation and benefits, employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, employee/management training and development, workers compensation and safety, and policy & procedure development preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local governmental regulatory compliance and employment/labor laws preferred.
