Position Overview: As a member of the Human Resources team, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as a generalist in various HR activities, focusing on the day-to-day operations of the assigned Business Unit (BU) to ensure operational excellence. This role will partner with department leaders to achieve business objectives by leveraging extensive HR knowledge and fostering organizational success. The HRBP will provide coaching and guidance on management, leadership, and employee relations while acting as a culture leader by understanding key departmental objectives, building relationships across the organization, and collaborating with the broader HR team to execute strategic and tactical initiatives. Responsibilities include payroll and reporting, problem-solving, employee communications, compensation and benefits administration, and managing key HR processes. Additionally, the HRBP will support business leaders by aligning HR strategies with operational goals, driving organizational culture change, and contributing to the design, project management, and implementation of HR initiatives that enhance overall business performance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day HR tactical support and guidance to managers and employees, ensuring alignment with HR strategies, policies, and programs.
  • Manage and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to HR policies.
  • Provide coaching and development support to managers on leadership effectiveness, talent assessment, and succession planning.
  • Consult with management on employee relations, performance improvement, disciplinary actions, and other HR-related issues while mitigating risks.
  • Partner with department leaders to enhance work relationships, build morale, and improve productivity and retention.
  • Conduct and support investigations, document findings, and recommend solutions for employee relations concerns while ensuring compliance with employment laws.
  • Support annual performance review and merit increase processes, providing guidance on evaluations and compensation decisions.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for employees and alignment with company culture.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on employment laws, HR compliance, and company policies, ensuring consistent and fair HR practices.
  • Act as a change agent by driving culture transformation, managing organizational change, and supporting initiatives that align with business objectives.
  • Track key HR metrics, analyze trends, and collaborate with leadership to develop solutions that improve engagement, retention, and overall workforce effectiveness.
  • Participate in HR projects, including performance management, learning and development, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), policy updates, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Set-up, coordinate, and promote company, plant, and community events and initiatives, lunches, meetings, recognition, giveaways, celebrations, and outings for special occasions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

Education and Experience for the Human Resources Business Partner:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, HR or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience in a generalist or HRBP role.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, with both non-exempt and exempt personnel. 
  • ADP experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft products such as PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

 

Physical/Mental Requirements:

Physical: 

  • Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional standing, walking, or reaching to access files, office equipment, or attend meetings.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and office equipment such as printers and telephones.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies or files up to 20lbs.
  • Visual acuity to read, analyze, and interpret documents and computer screens.

 

Mental:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess HR issues, conduct investigations, and develop solutions.
  • High level of emotional intelligence (EQ) to handle sensitive employee relations matters and workplace conflicts.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Attention to detail for reviewing policies, compliance documents, and performance management reports.
  • Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive employee information and HR matters.
  • Resilience and adaptability to navigate organizational change, difficult conversations, and complex HR challenges.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to interpret laws, regulations, and company policies accurately.

 

Travel: Occasionally for meetings, training, or site visits, if required.
