Who We Are

AGC Electronics America (AGCEA) manufactures high-purity Silicon Carbide (SiC) Ceramics materials and CMP Slurries for the semiconductor industry. We also serve as a distributor for other AGC Electronics Materials manufactured in Japan and elsewhere. We are headquartered in Hillsboro, Oregon, USA, and are a division of AGC Flat Glass North America.

What We Offer

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    1. This position is required to be on-site for the first 90 days of employment for training purposes. After training is completed, this position is hybrid optional (3 days/week onsite).
    2. This position will be required to occasionally come on-site for company events or as needed by the business.
  • $75,800.00 - $93,200.00 annually

About The Role

The Human Resources Business Partner must have a passion for working with people and is willing to work collaboratively with the HR team and leadership to drive results that are aligned with the strategic priorities and initiatives of the company.  This role will serve as a consultant to employees, supervisors and managers by providing guidance and assistance on a wide variety of human resources processes, initiatives, and workforce planning.   This person will act as trusted advisor and foster open communications to build strong relationships to ensure HR initiatives are integrated seamlessly with business operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related discipline required or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • 4+ years proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role/ relevant work experience in HR; industrial manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent customer service skills; friendly and approachable required
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities required.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and administrative rules and regulations required.
  • Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions regarding work methods and priorities while maintaining the high confidentiality necessary for personnel work required.
  • Must be able to develop relationships with all levels of the organization while providing superior customer service and maintain composure and flexibility under pressure and/or with routine interruptions or changes in direction.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Human Resources policy and procedures in making work decisions or in providing information to others.
  • Ability to work as a team member and effectively communicate with Human Resource team members.
  • Ability to perform detailed tasks in an accurate and timely manner. Coordinate multiple work projects, adapt to changing priorities, and meet set deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS): ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Projects (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SHRM or HRCI certifications.
  • Manufacturing and/or semi-conductor industry experience.
  • Experience with ADP (ATS/HRIS).
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams.
  • Multilingual.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships across the business with key stakeholders and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Think strategically, bringing both a business and employee perspective to issues, acts as a change agent, offering creative solutions.
  • Proactively manage employee relations matters to create a positive work environment and maintain healthy employeemanager relationships. Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers to address concerns, provide guidance, and ensure fair treatment following company policies and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints or conflicts, collaborating with relevant parties to find resolutions and prevent future issues.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on HR policies, procedures, and relevant legal regulations, ensuring that the organization remains in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Interpret policies and legal requirements, translating them into clear guidelines that can be understood and implemented by managers and employees.
  • Responsible for the administration and coordinator of US leave program, including FMLA, ADAAA, short-term disability, paid state leave, military leave, and other company-sponsored programs. Provide information and process instructions to employees needing to take a leave, maintain data tracking, and interact with employees, managers, and HR team members. 
  • Manage workers compensation and return to work program in partnership with management and EHS. Serve as SME for leave and workers’ compensation programs, interpreting and administering policies in accordance with applicable law.
  • Manage the tracking of all disciplinary actions and the termination process while following company policies.
  • Conduct and utilize exit interviews, employee surveys, employee focus groups, and other data points to monitor and analyze the workplace and recommend practices that will ensure the success and retention of employees in all positions. 
  • Responsible for inputting and maintaining employee records in ADP and other systems as needed accurately and completely to ensure timely inputs to systems are made to maintain data integrity for business reporting. Investigates data discrepancies and resolves issues proactively.
  • Responsible for overseeing non-EHS training including job related training and certification programs. Provide feedback on content, structure, and flow as well as knowledge retention. Delivery and training will be provided by SME’s, qualified trainers or other people identified to train.
  • Assist with the development and deployment of department projects and initiatives, in support of ongoing employee engagement activities to include but not limited to recognition program, performance management system, HR-related trainings, employment policies, or other initiatives as assigned.
  • Creates, documents and update HR related training guides and standard operating procedures.
  • Responds to employment inquiries, (i.e., Unemployment claims, HR email inbox)
