Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner
Reports to: Corporate Human Resources Director
Location: On-site position located at our facility in Antigo, WI with the option to work one day per week from our Wausau Office.
Job Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for the daily employee relations functions of the Human Resources department including employment policies, legal compliance, talent acquisition, labor relations, leave management, and leadership development. The HRBP role acts in a customer service capacity to both employees and management to support organizational growth and objectives. The role plays an active part in supporting organizational leadership in building high-performance teams through coaching, performance management guidance, and development planning.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide strong department and organizational leadership, setting a positive example and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Develop personnel through hiring, training, performance management, coaching, disciplinary actions, terminations, and similar personnel management activities.
- Coach, mentor, and support team members in achieving daily objectives and department goals.
- Set goals, plan work, and allocate tasks to ensure efficient utilization of resources and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Monitor team performance, provide timely feedback, and address performance issues as needed.
- Maintain open and effective communication channels within the team and with other stakeholders.
- Identify training and development needs and support the professional growth of team members.
- Resolve conflicts and make informed decisions to drive success.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Essential Duties
- Act as the Human Resources point of contact for assigned departments, locations, and regions.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Partner with departmental leadership to understand business goals and align HR strategies and support to assist in achieving financial and operational success.
- Leads initiative to enhance employee engagement, retention, and a culture of inclusion within assigned departments.
- Ensure all confidential personnel information is kept and remains confidential.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership to identify and address labor and employee relations needs and challenges.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource strategies including areas such as hiring and firing, leave management, disputes and investigations, disciplinary matters, performance and talent management, leadership training and development.
- Work with hiring managers to develop accurate, legally sound job descriptions.
- Oversee Talent Acquisition team activities to recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Provide employment policy review and guidance to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with organizational HR strategies, policies, and programs.
- Create manager training and resource materials for various Human Resources topics.
- Conduct or assist with record audits and mandatory reporting, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, department audits, and other compliance reviews.
- Prepare and share regular reports on workforce performance, employee engagement, turnover, and other key performance indicators.
- Analyze data and metrics to identify trends, propose solutions, and measure progress.

- Proven experience leading and influencing a team across different geographical regions with different personalities and varying degrees of experience.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- The ability to effectively adjust to new situations, procedures, technologies, changing priorities, etc.
- Proven interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to deal with complex personnel management issues in a professional and constructive manner
- Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to effectively work with Human Resources information systems, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other applicable computer systems and software.
- Capacity to think critically, calculate, analyze, and track details/figures/data and make competent decisions based on those details/figures/data.
Education and Experience
- Knowledge of employment law, personnel management, and strategic development competencies normally acquired by the completion of a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or communication, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar role required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of human resources management experience preferred.
- SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move around for extended periods of time.
- Proficiency in using hands, fingers, and arms for tasks such as typing and writing.
- Sufficient visual acuity to read documents and recognize details at close and distant ranges.
- Ability to hear and understand verbal communication.
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and wear protective gear, including helmets, goggles, gloves, and safety shoes, as required by the job.

Travel Requirements
This position requires occasional overnight travel (between 5%-10%) and occasional travel within the workday.
Driver Qualification
The ability to drive a company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle on behalf of the company may be required Inclusion in the company’s driver qualification program is required to drive a company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle.
Becoming a qualified driver includes:
- Agree to the company driving policies that apply to company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle as applicable.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver license and be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record, as evidenced by completion of a baseline motor vehicle record check and ongoing monitoring.
- When driving a personal vehicle on behalf of the company, must provide a copy of the declaration page from personal auto insurance that shows the policy dates and minimum coverage amounts ($300,000 bodily injury per accident/$100,000 property damage per accident or if driving less than 5 hours/200 miles a year $50,000 bodily injury per accident/$10,000 property damage per accident or the state minimum, whichever is more). This requirement is initially and then annually thereafter.
