Reporting to the Director of Human Capital, the HRBP is responsible for managing day-to-day HR
operations while maintaining strong relationships with site leadership. The HRBP is expected to understand the core business activities, challenges, and objectives of the site, and proactively align HR strategies to support workforce effectiveness, operational goals, and cultural initiatives.
Key responsibilities include employee relations, compliance, talent support, training, and partnership with cross-functional HR teams (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Payroll). The HRBP will also supervise the site’s Office Administrator to ensure administrative and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Do:
- Business Alignment & Strategic Partnerships: Develop a strong understanding of the site’s operational goals, workforce needs, and business drivers. Partner with site leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives, providing proactive support and solutions that drive productivity, engagement, and performance.
- Health & Safety Culture: Promote a culture of safety and employee well-being by partnering with department managers to ensure consistent practices and accountability across all levels.
- Policy & Compliance: Support the Director of HR in implementing and maintaining policies and procedures in accordance with California and federal labor laws. Stay current regulatory changes and collaborate with legal counsel as needed.
- Employee Handbook Management: Ensure the employee handbook remains up to date and in compliance. Coordinate communication and acknowledgments for all updates across the site.
- Employee Relations & Investigations: Lead and/or support timely and impartial investigations into employee concerns, including policy violations, harassment, and discrimination. Ensure thorough documentation and proper resolution in line with company values and legal standards.
- Progressive Discipline & Performance Support: Develop and maintain a discipline tracking matrix and provide leaders with visibility into performance issues. Guide leaders through corrective actions and performance improvement plans.
- Manager Support & Training: Advise managers on employee relations, hiring, terminations, and enforcing company policies. Provide periodic training on best practices and HR processes for new and existing leaders.
- Policy Management: Review, revise, and maintain HR policies. Keep an organized inventory and ensure all employees have acknowledged applicable policies.
- Job Description Oversight: Maintain a comprehensive inventory of active job descriptions and ensure signed copies are on file for all employees.
- Talent Acquisition Partnership: Collaborate closely with the TA team to support site-specific hiring needs. Serve as a liaison between site leadership and the TA team, helping to align hiring priorities, support interview processes, and ensure a smooth onboarding experience. Work cross-functionally with TA, Benefits, and Payroll to ensure a seamless transition from offer acceptance through Day 1.
- Onboarding & Orientation: Oversee the local execution of new hire onboarding and orientation sessions. Ensure all employment documentation and compliance requirements are completed, including timely and accurate E-Verify processing and work authorization verification.
- Staffing Agency Coordination: Act as liaison for third-party staffing agencies. Ensure proper setup and tracking of temporary workers in the HRMS for compliance and reporting purposes.
- HR Data Accuracy: Conduct periodic audits of HRMS entries to ensure accuracy. Address and resolve data inconsistencies promptly.
- Performance Management: Lead the annual performance review process at the site. Train managers on using performance tools and serve as a point of contact for system-related questions.
- Training & Development: Deliver or support HR-related training for managers and employees. Partner with leaders across functions to drive learning initiatives that support workforce development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with key HR functions—including Talent Acquisition, Benefits, and Payroll—to ensure alignment, consistency, and an integrated approach to employee support throughout the lifecycle.
