Summary:   

Responsible and accountable for helping develop and implement processes, policies, procedures, and metrics that support the organization’s human capital business goals 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Recommend and participate in the development of policies, procedures, activities, and programs for recruiting/staffing, employee education/training, management development, employee relations, affirmative action, benefits, and salary administration. 

  • Direct and coordinate all staffing activities for the business unit, ensuring the recruitment of highly qualified talent capable of supporting the short and long term needs of the business for both full-time and temporary needs.  

  • Develop programs to enhance and improve employee engagement. 

  • Partner with all functional departments to ensure meeting business unit and company safety, service, cost, and people goals.  

  • Provide support to managers on staffing decisions, legal issues regarding hiring practices, and development of position selection criteria. 

  • Resolve complex employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations.  

  • Partner with managers to deliver appropriate disciplinary actions when needed 

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws by maintaining in-depth knowledge of all legal requirements. 

  • Interpret and apply Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring consistent application while working with management to provide solutions that balance business and employee needs in compliance with company policy. 

  • Communicate and administer benefits and compensation programs consistent with plan design and provisions. This includes submitting billing for payment.  

  • Administer disability and FMLA programs, focusing on effective management of cost, compliance, and employee relations. 

  • Collaborate with local and company training resources to develop and deploy training, education, and communication tools to support the implementation of new processes and ongoing employee development. 

  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals. 

  • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets HR related data for report generation and management decision making. 

  • Participate in compensation and benefits surveys and/or conduct surveys. 

  • Maintain records of insurance coverage and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations. 

  • Knowledge of Safety and OSHA regulations as it relates to Workers Compensation.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related discipline. 

  • Minimum of 4 years significant, direct, and practical Human Resources generalist experience in manufacturing industry . 

  • PHR or SPHR highly preferred. 

  • Capacity to solve problems through creative, innovative solutions and challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks. 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast paced and demanding environment. 

  • Proven leadership skills and an ability to work effectively with a management team to maintain and enforce Human Resources practices and programs. 

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and in a variety of cultures.
