Tom Wood Group located in Indianapolis, Indiana is growing, and we are looking for a passionate and driven Human Resources Business Partner to join our team! 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Coach leaders and apply in-depth knowledge of human resources best practices to provide fair and consistent guidance and determine best solutions regarding policy interpretation, performance issues, workforce planning, change management, conflict resolution, etc., to ensure alignment and consistency across the company 
  • Collaborate with other business partners and managers to improve and build trusted relationships aimed at improving employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Identify high risk employees and high priority retention needs
  • Work closely with managers to communicate and support company-wide initiatives to ensure employee needs are met
  • Maintain friendly and professional open lines of communication with all employees
  • Conduct regular, value-added, weekly site visits with all assigned locations
  • Conduct thorough, objective, impartial investigations that are properly documented
  • Ensure all HR policies are consistently applied, and all HR processes are consistently followed
  • Uphold high standards of ethics and integrity in all HR activities and interactions, and serve as a positive ambassador for the company culture and values
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all matters relating to human resources and employees
  • Identify training and development needs within assigned locations and collaborate with HR leadership to implement solutions
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of HR legal requirements to ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations, as well as policies and procedures
  • Assist int he administration of employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, open enrollment, leave of absence, worker’s compensation, and others
  • Conduct new hire orientation on a rotating basis with other HRBPs
  • Complete all onboarding and offboarding activities for all employees at assigned locations
  • Learn and become a functional SME on assigned HR topics to provide back-up assistance for HR leadership
  • Manage pay plans for all employees at assigned locations
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition team to communicate needs and create hiring strategies
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • 4+ years of human resources experience in a generalist or business partner role
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the role at all times
  • Experience with HRIS systems (ADP preferred)
  • Detailed knowledge and application of Federal, State, and Local employment laws/ regulations
  • Polished communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior leaders and influence decision making
  • Ability to travel within a 60-mile radius of office location to assigned locations on a weekly basis
  • MUST have a valid driver’s license with a CLEAN record
