Position Summary / Objective:

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for Human Resources functions, including onboarding, recruiting coordination, employee communications, HR documentation, and general office administration. This position serves as a key point of contact for employees and candidates while supporting HR compliance, reporting, and special projects.

 

Essential functions:

  • Coordinate and execute employee onboarding activities, including preparing new hire paperwork, scheduling orientations, and ensuring completion of pre-employment requirements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for new hires by providing guidance regarding company policies, procedures, benefits, and available resources.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including scheduling candidate interviews and coordinating communications with hiring managers and applicants.
  • Facilitate and coordinate security clearance processing with security personnel and candidates, ensuring required documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Create, update, organize, and maintain HR forms, templates, records, and documentation.
  • Assist with HR audits, reporting, compliance activities, projects, and other administrative support functions as assigned.
  • Assist with processing employee verification requests and responding to unemployment claims in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate required HR mailings, including employee notifications, periodic correspondence, and mass communications.
  • Administer and track employee programs such as Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Referral programs.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating job descriptions and supporting salary survey activities, as needed.
  • Serve as office administrator for facility-related items, office supplies, company business cards, and general administrative needs.
  • Provide general customer service and support to employees, managers, and external contacts regarding HR-related inquiries.

 

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, with 2+ years of HR experience, including onboarding, HRIS, or related experience. Equivalent education and experience considered.

 

Preferred education and experience:

  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now
  • Government Contracting Experience

  • Ability to communicate professionally with employees, candidates, managers, and external contacts
  • Skilled in administrative support and office coordination functions

Work authorization/security clearance requirements:

No Security Clearance required upon hire. Ability to obtain a security clearance, as required.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Excellent listening skills are essential. The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. 


 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

The typical workday is eight hours in length, with a 5-day work week. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with approval from the supervisor. Must be available during the core work hours as determined by your work location and supervisor and must account for the required number of hours in a pay period to maintain Full-time status.


Telework:

  • This is an in-office position, exceptions at the discretion of the HR Director. 

 

Travel:

  • Occasional travel to various CONUS locations may be required.
