The Harmony Healthcare Long Island, formerly known as (Long Island Federally Qualified Health Center or LIFQHC) is a non-profit healthcare organization with 7 health centers, providing primary care and preventative medicine in the following locations in Nassau County: Roosevelt, Elmont, Hempstead, Freeport, Oceanside, and New Cassel/Westbury. In addition, the Harmony Healthcare Long Island has 4 school-based health centers, WIC offices (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) in 3 locations, and a Health Home Care Coordination program. JOB TITLE: Human Resources Coordinator

            

REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources

 

The following statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of this position. 

 

JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Coordinator executes and manages various human resources functions such as recruitment, onboarding, compensation, training and development, and compliance for the benefit of the company.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manages recruitment and hiring process, including working closely with hiring managers, posting positions, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, checking employee references, coordinating background checks and physical clearances and extending job offers.
  • Utilizes various recruitment tools and methods to source and attract a pool of qualified and diverse candidates.
  • Maintains relationships with candidate referral sources including recruitment agencies and schools.
  • Reviews college affiliate agreements and collaborates with managers to place volunteers, interns and students into assignments throughout the company.
  • Assists in coordinating Compliance reviews and assessments.
  • Participates in maintaining personnel records, including benefit plan participation, personnel transactions (hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations), and employees statistics for reporting purposes.
  • Understands employee handbook and able to answer questions and provide guidance to employees.
  • In conjunction with the HR Team, coordinates employee events (i.e. Year End Party, vendor site visits).
  • Assists in coordination of new hire orientation and other training activities.
  • Assists with various research projects, audits, and/or special projects.
  • Maintain Confidentiality of files and incidents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in business administration, human resources or related field required. 
  • Human Resources certification (HRIC/SHRM) preferred.
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now and MedTrainer preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a human resources role.
  • Knowledge and experience with recruiting and retention of medical, nursing and other healthcare personnel preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to administering human resources.

 

SALARY:                              $50,000 - $60,000
